Having already thought about what theme i want to do this term over the Christmas holidays. I already have many ideas on how i could approach it. The theme i have chosen is looking at Fantasy vs. Reality specifically focusing on alter egos.
I am thinking of creating big pieces - drawings/paintings which show peoples alter egos. The simplest form of alter egos are celebrities personas on stage. So i am going to make some pieces/ sketchbook work based on celebrities, but somehow making their ego/character more fantasy like. However I do not want to limit myself to looking only at celebrities. I want to show that everyone has an alter ego, a different life, different desires. I could create a questionnaire asking people about what/who/how the want to be, if they could change themselves. I would make the questionnaires anonymous so i get the best results, people will really let go and spill their thoughts. Although, I am far away from the final major project I have started thinking about how i could present my work and thought of creating an animation of whatever my final pieces will be.( and i really want to practice some animation as it is something i would be interested in combining illustration with at university)
For now I am going to look at some artists for inspiration and practice their styles, creating some work which could go into my portfolio which is linked to my alter ego theme.
